Fifita to miss one week

Sharks prop Andrew Fifita has taken the early guilty plea on his Grade One Shoulder charge and will miss the game against the Cowboys on Thursday night.

Fifita was charged for a hit on Warriors forward Lachlan Burr in the 6th minutes of the game at Westpac Stadium on Friday night. He was sin binned for the offence and the Warriors leveled the scores from the subsequent penalty.

The charge carried a base penalty of 200 points, which has been discounted to 180 for the early guilty plea.

In accepting the charge Fifita misses one game and has 80 carry-over points to be added to any future match review charges.

If he was to have challenged and been unsuccessful in having the charge dismissed, the 240 point penalty would have seen Fifita miss two games.

The Sharks play the Cowboys at PointsBet Stadium on Thursday night.
