It’s been a long time between games for the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership Sharks, with Friday’s clash with Mounties, a game matching second against fourth, their first on over a month.
The Sharks were last in action on June 8, in a game where they beat Wentworthville 32-8, however since it has been a frustrating wait for a Cronulla side which had displayed some form and built some momentum through the middle part of the season.
Since the Magpies win the competition took a week’s break due to the representative fixtures, the Sharks then had a bye in round 15, before receiving a forfeit against the Penrith Brothers club in round 16.
Now obviously well rested, they face one of their toughest challenges to date against a Mounties side sitting second on the ladder in what is a final round match before the start of the Women’s Premiership finals.
The Sharks have named a strong team, one including in-form NSW reps Maddie Studdon and Corban McGregor and will be hoping for a solid hit out before commencing their finals campaign.
The Sharks and Mounties are scheduled to play at Aubrey Keech Reserve on Friday night, with the match kicking off at 7.00pm.
