Team List – Sharks v Bears

It was hard fought on Sunday, the Jersey Flegg Sharks coming away with a one-point win over the Raiders, but it was a victory which increased the young Cronulla teams lead at the top of the competition table.

The Sharks snuck home by 25-24 but with other results falling in their favour, have now opened up a four-point break on their nearest rivals as the season passes the halfway mark.

The Sharks seemingly had the result secured in Canberra, only for two late Raider tries to make it interesting, however it may have been a scare that has eliminated any complacency ahead of this week’s game against the 14th placed North Sydney Bears.

Coach Daniel Holdsworth has stuck with Kai Broadhurst at five eighth, after his field goal ultimately proved to be the difference last weekend, in limiting the changes for Sunday’s round 15 clash.

An interesting name on the extended reserves bench is that of Lorenzo Mulitalo, twin brother of Ronaldo who made his NRL debut for the Sharks in their round seven match in Brisbane earlier this year.

While eligible for the Jersey Flegg competition, Ronaldo has played for the Newtown Jets in the Canterbury Cup throughout the 2019 season.

The Sharks and Bears are scheduled to play at 11am on Sunday morning at Storey Park.
