After cruising through the opening four rounds of the Jersey Flegg competition the Sharks came crashing back to earth when handed a 50-10 thumping at the hands of the Penrith Panthers in their round six match last Thursday night.
The Sharks were off the pace, as much as their opponents were in top gear, piling on the points in giving the Cronulla side a realty check early on in the 2019 season.
After a long turnaround the Sharks have a chance to respond and to find the form which had them on top of the Flegg table when they face the Wests Tigers on Sunday in a match scheduled for 3.10pm at Lidcombe Oval.
The sixth-placed Tigers will head into the contest on the back of a 36-10 victory over the Parramatta Eels, while the Sharks still sit in second place, equal top on eight competition points, despite the Panthers loss.
The Sharks v Tigers Jersey Flegg match will follow a televised Canterbury Cup clash between the Jets and Wests Magpies.
