Nikora to miss a week

Sharks young gun Briton Nikora has accepted the early guilty plea on a dangerous throw charge from Thursday night's game against the Panthers and will miss one game.

Charged with a grade one dangerous throw for a tackle of Villiame Kikau in the first half of the Sharks win last week, the base penalty was 100 points however with loading from a previous incident dating back to his Holden Cup days, Nikora will now be forced to sit out the game with the Broncos on Saturday night.

After discussions with Sharks legal representatives and in considering the video evidence it was decided Nikora would take the early plea and miss the week.

He will now have 12 carryover points which would be added to any subsequent charges.

Through the first six rounds of the 2019 season Nikora has been a revelation, his strong charges , complemented by his dependable defense, has added a touch of youth, enthusiasm and x-factor on the Sharks right hand side.

Sharks coach John Morris, while certain to be disappointed not to have Nikora available, has a number of options as to his replacement, with Scott Sorensen and Jayson Bukuya both capable of filling the role in the backrow.
