Old Sharks return for reunion day

Members of the Sharks first-ever team from 1967, Club immortals, Cronulla legends, fan favourites and a collection of unheralded yet much loved and respected clubmen, will all be at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday as a part of the annual Old Boys Reunion.

The Sharks living immortals in Andrew Ettingshausen, Tommy Bishop and Gavin Miller have indicated they will be a part of the celebrations, Mat and Don will proudly represent Steve and the Rogers family, while Greg Pierce is certain to be there in spirit, in what is a special occasion for those to have worn the black, white and blue.

The old boys, almost 150 of them, the majority being former players, mixed with coaches, trainers, medical staff and administrators, will assemble in the Sharks Leagues Club earlier in the afternoon, where no doubt plenty of stories will be told, memories rekindled.

From there the group will take in the action of the first half of the Sharks v Roosters NRL clash, before doing a lap of honour at half time of the main game.

In between, the Sharks will recognise those who have passed in the last 12 months, included amongst them former coach and CEO Peter Armstrong who was farewelled at a funeral on the Gold Coast earlier today.

After the game is over, where the festivities go from there is anyone’s guess, with old Sharks coming from far and wide to take part in the reunion and certain to be keen to reconnect with their clubmates from years past.

Sharks fans are encouraged to get to PointsBet Stadium on Saturday and to show your appreciation to those to have served the club with distinction.
