There have been no signs of a premiership hangover for the Jersey Flegg Sharks in 2019, with the young Cronulla side off to a fast start in defence of the title they won last season.
Three wins in succession, all by impressive margins, has the Flegg Sharks riding high and sitting on top of the competition table early in the new season.
After disposing of the Bears and the Victorian Thunderbolts in the opening two rounds, the Sharks were again dominant in a 38-4 third round victory over the Parramatta Eels last Saturday.
The Sharks scored in just the second minute through fullback Jonaiah Lualua, before taking a 10-4 advantage to the halftime break.
From there it was all Sharks, five second half tries, spread amongst five different try-scorers, confirming the result.
With a strong for-and-against the Sharks sit on top of three teams who are undefeated after the opening rounds of the Flegg competition.
The Sharks face one of those undefeated teams this weekend in a Roosters side that has been equally impressive so far in 2019.
The Roosters come into the game with the Sharks on the back of a narrow 22-20 win over the Raiders at there last start.
The Sharks v Roosters Jersey Flegg clash is scheduled for a 5.15pm kick-off at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday as the curtain raiser to the NRL match.
