Sharks women’s two on the trot

The Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership team have notched a second consecutive victory in beating the Bulldogs 22-0 in their round four match played at Belmore on Saturday.

Following on from their first up loss to the Bear, the Sharks managed to beat St Mary’s before now getting the better of the Bulldogs and with two wins and a loss from their first three games sit two points off the joint-competition lead and in fourth position on the ladder.

The Sharks began strongly, a Kiana Takairangi try in the sixth minute putting them on the board, before a second to the classy outside back made it 10-0 lead to the Cronulla side, an advantage they would take to the half time break.

From there they grinded out a victory, Jillaroo Corban McGregor crossing in the 40th minute, Quincy Dodd touching down two minutes from time as the Sharks claimed the points.

Maddie Studdon kicked three goals from four attempts.

While the Sharks attack showed some promise in getting across the stripe for four tries, perhaps more impressive was the defensive effort in holding their opponents to nil.

All Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership teams now have two weeks off, with the next match for the Sharks against the Wests Tigers at Lidcombe Oval on Sunday, April 28
