Sharks v Knights - Trial Team List

Sharks fans will get their first glimpse of new recruit Shaun Johnson when he takes to the field alongside a host of stars as the Sharks take on the Newcastle Knights in their final trial match of 2019.

The Sharks and Knights are set to come together at Maitland No. 1 Sportsground on Saturday, less than two weeks before the same two teams kick off their seasons with a first round clash at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.

Coach John Morris will welcome back a host of stars for the clash, with the likes of Matt Moylan, Josh Dugan, Andrew Fifita and Paul Gallen all ready and raring to go.

After an impressive first hit-out against Manly last week, young guns Kyle Flanagan, Bronson Xerri, Briton Nikora, Billy Magoulias and Will Kennedy will all have another chance to impress their coach ahead of the season opener, retaining their spots in the side.

The NRL trial is at 5.30pm, an ISP match between Newtown and Newcastle gets underway at 3.15pm, with the Jersey Flegg game between the Sharks and Knights starting at 1.30pm.

For those wanting to make a day of it, there will be three games prior to the Jersey Flegg Sharks taking to the field. Gates open at 8:45am.

General admission tickets for the match can be purchased online at www.maitlandevents.com.au or over the counter at the Maitland Visitor Information Centre.

Tickets are $20 for grandstand seating, while general admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Children's tickets cannot be purchased separately and will need to be bought with adult tickets.
