The Sharks host the Penrith Panthers in round four NSWRL junior representative fixtures with the Tarsha Gale, Matthews Cup and SG Ball Sharks all in action at Shark Park on Saturday.
The Tarsha Gale girls, looking for their first win of the 2019 season are scheduled to kick off at 10am, followed by the Under-16 Matthews Cup boys at 12 and the SG Ball match at 1.45pm.
The Matthews and Ball teams come into the game on the back of last start victories, the Matthews Cup side scoring a spirited 18-16 win over Parramatta, while the SG Ball Sharks brought the points home from Perth after thumping the West Coast Pirates 66-6 in their round three clash.
They both face Panther teams with similar records, with Penrith coming into the games on Saturday after beating Souths in the two grades last weekend.
While entrenched in the top eight, the matches will be crucial as the young Sharks look to push on towards a potential finals berth.
As for the Tarsha Sharks, despite showing signs of improvement in a loss last weekend, they will certainly give themselves some hope in playing a Panthers side which was soundly beaten 48-10 by the Newcastle Knights.
The Penrith Tarsha team had won their opening two matches.
And in some coaching news, with the change up to the NRL set up and the promotion of Daniel Holdsworth to Jersey Flegg Head Coach and NRL skills assistant, Mick Hughes will assume the duties in charge of the Matthews Cup squad.
A local coach from the St John Bosco Club, Hughes has been involved in the Sharks Academy coaching for a number of years, was assistant in to Chris O’Connell in SG Ball this season and thoroughly deserves his opportunity with the Matthews Cup team.
