Sharks to ‘Buddy’ up on Sunday
Gig Buddies, a community organisation which pairs up people with disability with volunteers to attend gigs, shows and various events, aimed at empowering people with disability and preventing associated mental health and isolation issues, will be the Sharks Have Heart game day Community partner this weekend.
At every home game in 2018 the Sharks are partnering with 50-50 Charity Raffle and a signature charity partner, to help raise funds for that charity, with Gig Buddies Sydney this week's community partner.
Gig Buddies is an initiative of ACL Disability Services, a volunteer befriending initiative for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and/or autism, matching them with a volunteer who shares similar interests, and can attend events together.
On Sunday around 50 Gig Buddies volunteers and their buddies will be in attendance, cheering on the Sharks at Southern Cross Group Stadium.
50-50 tickets can be purchased online and are also sold directly to patrons by roaming volunteers equipped with hand-held electronic devices at the Stadium.
The total pool of funds collected from ticket sales is split 50-50, with 50 percent going directly to the lucky winner while the other 50 percent goes directly towards charitable purposes.
Sharks members and fans, either at the game on Sunday or by purchasing on-line, are encouraged to get involved and you could score yourself a great cash prize, while at the same time assisting an extremely worthwhile community organisation.
