After a two-week mid-season break, Sharks are back in action on Saturday when they take on the competition-leading Newcastle Knights in a round 17 Jersey Flegg clash set down for Henson Park.
Sitting third on the Flegg ladder, the Sharks are just two points from the top spot, with a win to set up their run home and enhance the possibility of challenging for the minor premiership.
Should they hope to repeat their round six win over Newcastle the Sharks will need to put an end to a two-game losing streak, with both the Eels and Mounties teams registering victories over the Cronulla side before the two-week pause in the season.
If they hope to turn around their fortunes, the Sharks will need to do so without skipper Teig Wilton and centre Bronson Xerri, with the pair called into the NSW 20's Origin side to play Queensland next Wednesday.
Josh Carr and Chris Tupou are shadow players for the junior Blues however they are likely to play in the game against the Knights unless there are injuries in the NSW 20's camp prior to the weekend.
The game against Newcastle is scheduled for a 12.45pm kick-off at Henson Park as the curtain-raiser to the Newtown Jets v Knights Intrust Super Premiership match.
