Sharks prop Matt Prior has been named as a shadow player for NSW for State of Origin game three, with Dragons forward Paul Vaughan selected to start in the front row and his St George teammate Tariq Sims included on the interchange bench.
Coming in for the injured Regan Campbell-Gillard, Prior played limited minutes for NSW in game two but did the job for the Blues in their series-clinching win in making 23 effective tackles in the middle of the field.
Prior joins Roosters five eighth Luke Keary as a shadow player, with Titans forward Ryan James the 18th man for Brad Fittler's squad.
The team will undergo medicals in the next few days before the squad is finalised.
State of Origin game three, with NSW already two up in the series, is scheduled for Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, July 11.
