It’s a Saturday ‘Spectacular’ at Sharks

In excess of 1800 dancers will set Southern Cross Group Stadium alight on Saturday night when they take to the field at half time of the game against the Broncos as part of the Sharks 2018 Dance Spectacular.

An extremely popular annual event, with the young performers from 36 dance schools to be joined by the 67 Kids Crew and the Rundles Mermaids, the 2018 edition of the Dance Spec will again be a highlight of this year's match day entertainment.

Sharks Game Day Events Manager Jess Ciccia had no doubt this year's extravaganza would be just as exciting, colourful and energetic as those which have gone before.

"The Dance Spectacular has become a real highlight on our game day entertainment calendar each year and this Saturday will be no different," Ciccia said.

"The dancers, their teachers and instructors and everybody here at Sharks have put an enormous amount of work into ensuring this year is bigger, better and more spectacular than ever before.

"Logistically it is a huge task to put it all together on the night, but it is all worth it when the crowd gets to see the colour and excitement of the final product."

In preparation for Saturday night, two teacher choreography nights were held, before an on-field rehearsal was conducted under the guidance of Jacqueline Elliott from JLD Entertainment, Choreographer of the Sharks Mermaids.

Similar to the 2017 edition of the Dance Spec, Elliott and the Sharks invited dance schools based outside the Sutherland Shire to participate in this year's spectacular, with the event to feature schools hailing from Quakers Hill, Hurlstone Park and Cecil Hills, closer to home from Lugarno, Ramsgate and Sandy Point.

The rugby league action will be fast and furious, with the Sharks and Broncos to meet in a crucial Telstra Premiership clash, however the tip would be not to leave your seat, don't touch the television dial and to take in and enjoy the spectacle of the 2018 Sharks Dance Spec tomorrow night.

NOTE: With a bumper crowd expected due to the Dance Spectacular, fans looking to attend the game are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets to avoid disappointment.
