Dugan to miss 4-6 weeks

Scans late this afternoon have revealed Sharks fullback Josh Dugan has a broken foot, with the injury set to see him sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks.

Dugan suffered the injury in the closing moments of the Sharks win over the Titans, limping from the field after what had seemed at the time to be an innocuous incident.

The injury comes as a cruel blow to both the Sharks and to Dugan himself, with skipper Paul Gallen and experienced back rower Luke Lewis already out injured, while Dugan was playing himself into form in two consecutive outings at fullback after missing two matches with a groin strain.

The Sharks have a number of options in relation to a short-term replacement, with the team to play the Eels to be named tomorrow.
