Sharks halfback Chad Townsend fronted the media this week, talking about a range of topics in his midweek press conference.

Townsend was questioned on how the boys had been preparing to face a side coming off a heavy loss, and what the vibe is like around training heading in to Saturday’s match.

“After a loss you always want to bounce back with a win, and we’re no different” said Townsend

“Our first half on the weekend, that’s how the Cronulla Sharks play football. We were very controlled, able to score a few points and defensively we were outstanding.”

When asked about his combination with Moylan, Townsend spoke on how he didn’t expect fireworks straight away but can already see the combination is getting better each week, and there are plenty of positives to come from only their second game together.

“I really enjoy playing with Matty…that first half we combined really well,

“Our main focus is holding the ball, completing our sets and giving ourselves the best chance at scoring points and then winning the game.
