Sharks co-captain Wade Graham joined representatives from the 15 other NRL clubs in launching the 2018 NRL season at an event held at The Rocks in Sydney on Thursday.

Graham assumed the captain’s duties on the day in place of long-time skipper Paul Gallen, speaking with media and posing for promotional photos at the nearby Marriott Hotel, before taking the stage with captains and leading players from across the NRL.

The teams were paired up and presented to the crowd according to their round one opponents, with Graham marching up to the stage alongside Cowboys captain Johnathan Thurston.

The Melbourne Storm’s Cameron Smith then officially launched the season on behalf of the clubs, the players and the NRL, with the likes of Mitchell Pearce in his new Knights uniform, Dly Cherry Evans from the Sea Eagles, Dragons captain Gareth Widdop, Josh Jackson from the Bulldogs and the Broncos Darius Boyd also a part of the festivities.

Earlier the Sharks Mermaids performed alongside cheer groups from a handful of other NRL clubs in getting the event underway.

Following the on-stage media call and photo opportunity, Graham participated in more interviews, before Sharks TV caught up with the NSW and Australian backrower in getting his take on the day’s activities.
