His first season in Sharks colours in the NYC last year was a good one, impressive enough for Josh Carr to be called up into the NRL training group over the summer despite the fact he is still eligible for the under 20’s in 2018.
Big enough to be a middle forward, quick and agile enough to play on an edge, Carr has all the attributes to take his game to the next level, and while there is still plenty of work still to do, his introduction into the fulltime training group is another step forward in what could develop into a successful NRL career.
From Sydney’s west, Carr came through the junior rep ranks with the Parramatta Eels before being spotted by the Sharks and brought across for the 2017 season.
In his new environment Carr flourished, the young forward earning a regular spot in the Sharks Minor Premiership-winning NYC side last year.
As for 2018, Carr is unsure whether his immediate future lies with the Sharks Jersey Flegg side or with the Newtown Jets in the Intrust Super Premiership. His journey however will be interesting to follow during the upcoming season.
Carr spoke to Sharks TV as a part of the Young Guns series. Get to know one of the Sharks emerging stars, with his interview now playing on Sharks TV.
