Originally from Wollongong, Ryan King arrived at the Sharks in 2017 via the Sydney Roosters, with the capable young forward enjoying a standout season in the NYC last year.

Equally comfortable in the middle as a prop or lock, or a little wider as an edge backrower, King has shown the ability and attitude to suggest he has the tools to move up to the big stage if and when the opportunity presents.

Throughout the summer he has listened to, watched and learned from Sharks coaching staff and the experienced stars as a member of the fulltime NRL summer squad, with the challenge now to take the step up to senior rugby league in 2018.

One of a group of NYC graduates training alongside the likes of Gallen, Lewis, Prior, Townsend and Bukuya, King is next in our ‘Young Guns’ series, profiling the exciting batch of Sharks young up-and-comers progressing through the ranks.
