Joseph Paulo is in a unique situation.

The Sharks’ utility will line up for Toa Samoa at the upcoming Rugby League World Cup however in the previous tournament, he took to the field in the Stars and Stripes of the United States of America.

The tournament before that though?

Toa Samoa once more.

Playing on three occasions for the Pacific Island nation in the 2008 tournament, Paulo was used off the bench, putting his skills to good use against fierce-rivals Tonga along with France.

In 2013, in the USA team, Paulo donned the #6 jersey playing as a playmaker, scoring two tries and taking the responsibility of the team’s kicking duties with six conversions throughout the tournament.

The 2017 tournament though will offer Paulo the chance to get back with the Samoan team who have become a very tight group over the past few weeks in the build-up to tournament time.

And given that Paulo can play in variety of positions, expect to see ‘Sefa’ playing plenty of minutes for the Samoan side come tournament time.
