Sharks NRL Assistant coaches Steve Price and James Shepherd will move on after accepting coaching offers elsewhere.

Price is set to head to England to become Head Coach at the Warrington Wolves in the UK SuperLeague, while Shepherd has accepted an assistant coaching position at another NRL club.

Both played integral roles in the Sharks premiership success in 2016 and have been a part of the club’s current NRL coaching structure for the past three years.

Price came to the Sharks from St George Illawarra where he coached lower grades, before becoming an NRL Assistant, then Dragons Head Coach in 2012.

As for Shepherd, after coaching Cronulla’s Holden Cup side he was promoted to NRL Assistant, taking over as the Sharks Interim NRL Coach towards the end of the 2014 season.

The pair then became members of Shane Flanagan’s NRL coaching staff in 2015.

“Both were crucial to our success over the past few years, most significantly in 2016 and we congratulate them on their appointments and certainly wish them well in their future endeavours,” Flanagan said.

The Club will soon announce replacements and changes to the Sharks NRL coaching structure.
