Held up over the lien twice in the final five minutes in a loss to the Wests Tigers was unfortunately a continuation of the luck which has deserted the Newtown Jets who are now outside the top eight and needing a win this weekend over the Wyong Roos.

The Jets went down 18-12 to the Tigers to slip outside the eight, with their assignment this week a difficult one against a Wyong side sitting on top of the Intrust Super Premiership ladder.

The Roos have enjoyed a strong first half of the season and currently occupy first place following 13 wins, a draw and a loss from their 15 matches played.

The Jets on the other hand are in 11th position but likely to arrive at the Central Coast Stadium, the venue for the game, determined to take down a big scalp on Saturday.

The match is a part of a three-game roster, with the Sharks v Roosters NYC match at 10.45am, the ISP match, then the NRL clash to follow.

The Newtown team is listed below.
