While physically small in stature, the name of James Segeyaro looms large on the Sharks team list to play the Storm, with the energetic hooker named on an extended bench for the top of the table clash on Thursday night.

Segeyaro, who broke his arm the last time these two teams met back in round six, has been training strongly in recent weeks however a comeback on Thursday night would be up to a month ahead of previous predictions.

Selected in jersey 21, it could be a case of watch this space, with Coach Shane Flanagan as per the NRL team announcement rules to trim 21 players back to a 19-man squad later tonight.

Should Segeyaro’s name remain in the team speculation would then certainly increase as to whether he might be ready to face the Storm tomorrow night.

In addition to the interchange hooker position Flanagan has a few more selection headaches to sort through in trying to fit four experienced and in-from players into two bench spots.

While Jayson Bukuya and Chris Heighington would appear certain to play against the Storm, Flanagan needs to decide which of Sam Tagataese, Joseph Paulo, Jeremy Latimore and Kurt Capewell will complete his 17-man team.

Segeyaro’s inclusion would further complicate his decision-making process.

The Sharks 19-man list is released at 7.50pm tonight, 24-hours prior to kick-off, with the final 17 revealed one hour before the start of the game on Thursday evening.
