Two pieces of Corban McGregor magic has ultimately proved the difference in the Sharks Women’s Series match against Manly DJRL.

A pair of tries to the Jillaroos centre, one in the first half, the second after slicing through the middle of the Manly ruck just after the half time break, has seen the Sharks score an 18-4 victory.

Fielding a young team minus a couple of their more experienced campaigners, the Sharks were first on the board when McGregor found some space out wide and dashed 40-metres to score.

Jordan Baker added the extras and it was 6-0 Sharks, a score than would remain unchanged until the half time break.

Maintaining the momentum the Sharks found the Manly defense difficult to breech, but again it would be McGregor, this time through the middle of the field touching down under the posts to push the lead out to 10.

Baker slotted the easy conversion and it was 12-0 Sharks.

A third try, this time from Botille Vette-Welsh who showed good speed to evade the cover defense sealed the result, with the conversion making it 18-0 with time running out.

To their credit the Manly side never gave in and were rewarded for their persistence with a late four pointer as the full time siren was sounding.

The win was the fourth in five games for the Sharks Women who have two more games at Southern Cross Group Stadium this season.
