Valentine Holmes and James Maloney have both been named in the Australian Kangaroos squad for the upcoming Test match against New Zealand

Having both debuted for the Kangaroos on the end of season tour in 2016, the international stage will be nothing new for the Sharks Grand Final winning stars.

Holmes, who has shifted to fullback at Club level in 2017 will feature on the wing, a position which put him on the map up until this year.

The 21-year-old said that he is excited to be back in the Kangaroos side and will again take the opportunity to learn from the experience.

“It’s awesome to be picked again and I can’t wait to get back into camp,” said Holmes.

“I’ll be on the wing again but I don’t mind that. I’m really just happy to be given the opportunity again and hopefully I can do my job for the team.”

James Maloney has been named as 19th man and will be keeping a close eye on the fitness of Kangaroo regular Jonathan Thurston, who is racing against the close to be fit for the match.

“I’ll wait to see if I get the call up to the 17 but just being in the squad is great news,” said Maloney.

“These are the games you want to be a part of and if I do get a shot, I’ll take it with both hands.”

The Test Match will be played at GIO Stadium in Canberra on Friday, May 5 and Sharks Members and fans can purchase their tickets here to catch all the action.
