With health and safety a major factor, the NSWRL has decided to cancel round one matches in the SG Bal, Matthews Cup and Tarsha Gale Women's Nines competitions tomorrow with extreme temperatures predicted.

Even earlier than when the decision to cancel the entire round was made, doctors, both clubs and the governing body had decided to cancel the Sharks v Newcastle Junior representative fixtures scheduled to be played in Toronto.

With temperatures predicted to be close to 45 degrees in the Hunter region tomorrow, the decision was again made in the best interest of the health of players and officials.

The Junior Sharks are next in action when they play the Roosters in round two matches on Saturday, February 18 at Henson Park.
