Following the news of his passing, the Sharks send their condolences to the family of Arthur Winn, a man instrumental in the club’s entry into the premier NSWRL competition back in 1967.

The Sharks Treasurer back in 1967, Mr Winn would take over as Secretary of the Club midway through that inaugural season, hand over to Monty Porter in 1968, before again being installed as Secretary/CEO in 1970.

He held the post until 1982 making him the Club’s longest serving official in the Secretary/CEO role. During his tenure the Sharks played in both the 1973 and 1978 Grand Finals.

Mr Winn was originally from the Como Jannali club and was active in the local Sutherland Shire junior club during its formative years.

Aged 93, he watched the 2016 Sharks Grand Final triumph from his place of residence at the John Paul Village nursing home in Heathcote.

A funeral for Mr Winn will be held at St John Bosco Church at Engadine at 1.30pm on Saturday, November 12.
