It’s been a memorable last month for the Sharks – both on and off the field – with the Club reporting record figures in merchandise sales in the wake of the 2016 NRL Premiership win.
While the playing group went about etching their names into Premiership folklore, the Shire had well and truly turned black, white and blue throughout the NRL Finals series.
Sharks Merchandise Manager Adam Barnes spoke of the unprecedented run of sales, when thanking the Club’s supporters for doing their all to get behind the team.
“We’d like to take another chance to thank our Members and fans for making their purchases at the SharksStore,” Barnes said.
“It’s been quite amazing to tell you the truth, success breeds demand and it’s been a very busy three or four weeks throughout, and now after, the finals series.
“There’s been lots of running around and plenty happening both here at the Club and online. There’s not been a dull moment.”
Such was the excitement throughout the Shire following the Sharks Grand Final win, Members and fans queued en masse the following morning, hoping to be one of the first few to secure Premiership memorabilia.
Quick out the door were the Premiers T-shirts, with countless online orders placed on pre-sale memorabilia items also.
“With such a high volume of purchases, we also need to encourage our customers to remain patient as we work through the many thousands of orders,” Barnes said.
