They won the 2016 Premiership in Sydney last season, and perhaps the Cowboys were thankful the Grand Final was played at Homebush – not Moore Park.
Heading to Allianz Stadium to take on the Sharks this Friday, North Queensland will be out to overturn a poor record at the ground, where they’ve won just two of their last ten matches played – including a run of five straight losses.
Set for another tough task at the venue when meeting the Sharks this Friday, Cowboys Coach Paul Green was quick to heap praise on the Cronulla outfit.
“(The Sharks) have improved a lot in their attack and defence … obviously Maloney and Townsend have made a huge difference to them,” Green said.
“Ben Barba has found some form as well. They’re a very good side and we’ll need to be on our game.”
