Returning to the first-grade setup for the first time this season in the side's Round 18 trip to Penrith, hooker-half-utlity Nu Brown spoke with Sharks TV on Thursday and said he's 'grateful' to be back.

Sufferring a nasty ACL tear at the Auckland Nines in 2015, Brown paid his thanks to the fans who have rode the emotional journey with him, now back into the NRL mix.

"It's unreal, there's some loyal fans out there who have been with me throughout my injury. It's a big thanks to the them," Brown said.

"There's some people out there who say we 'need' a loss, but with us, it's 'why can't we win?', 'why not believe it'?, we're just playing with confidence now and a lot of self belief.

"Everyone's just driving each other into the end of the year."
