Origin dominated much of the media this week and it was one of own in the spotlight with Sharks skipper Paul Gallen running out for his final State of Origin game on Wednesday night.

Gallen as he always is was outspoken and accessible to the media both before and after the game, won by NSW in thrilling fashion.

Away from the interstate rivalry and the Sharks managed to clock up a 13th consecutive victory,  creating a new club record in the process as they defeated the Panthers despite missing six key players.

The win, and the black cat which streaked across Pepper Stadium, attracted plenty of attention early in the week.

Attention has since shifted away from Origin, back to the NRL and for the Sharks at least towards a Monday Night football clash with the Sydney Roosters.

In player features this week Valentine Holmes explained how he would love to own the Sharks try-scoring record, Nathan Ryan from Fox Sports reported a special relationship which exists between coach Shane Flanagan and back rower Wade Graham, while Mitch Brown missing some of his  brother’s wedding last Sunday to be in Penrith with the Sharks.

So in case you missed it during the week, see what they’ve been saying, see what they’re writing, in Sharks in the News for Friday, July 15.
