Receiving the ball 27m out, Sosaia Feki accelerated towards the try line to reach a speed of 8.4 m/s.

At that speed, Feki being 97kg possesses a running momentum of 815 kg m/s.

According to the impulse-momentum principle, in order to stop Feki’s forward motion, an impulse of 825 Newton Seconds (N s) needed to be applied in the opposite direction to Feki’s forward motion.

Coming across in cover, Michael Gordon contacted Feki with an instantaneous impact force of 12 g-forces, however he was unable to apply the force long enough to either stop Feki’s forward motion or to force him over the sideline.

Strong run by Feki! See it again in the highlights above.
