Sharks Mermaids Head Choreographer Jacqueline-Lee Elliot is set to showcase the talents of the Sharks cheer squad, far and away from the bright lights of game day at Southern Cross Group Stadium.

Elliot - having been involved with the Mermaids for well over a decade - will teach at an NFL/NBA Pro Dance Convention/Workshop in July in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the 'Choreography Pros' event.

The convention draws upon the experiences of choreographers and dance captains, who preside over squads in the NFL, NBA, NHL, College Football.

In a first in Australian sport, Elliot will also head to the USA to choreograph as one of the creatives at one of these workshops.

See Elliot's thoughts on making the journey abroad, now playing on Sharks TV.
