With the Sharks now sitting on top of the NRL ladder after their victory over Manly in round 11, it should come as no surprise that media interest has ramped up during the past week.
The Sharks led early and were then forced to reassert their authority late in contest when the Sea Eagles leveled the score at 12-all during the second half of the match.
The media reports following the Sharks 20-12 win highlighted the fact that for the first time since the 2000 season the Cronulla club was on top of the premiership table.
They also praised the efforts of Andrew Fifita after a barnstorming performance, as well as predicting that Valentine Holmes coud conceivably overtake David Peachey’s record of 19 tries in a season.
Player profiles, Origin stories and talk of the Sharks premiership credentials dominated the media during the week.
