Matt Prior, one of the Sharks form forwards through the first 10 rounds of the 2016 season, will miss the Manly match after suffering a minor knee injury in the victory over the Knights last Sunday.
Prior was injured during the first half of the 62-0 romp in Newcastle and failed to return during the second period, with his knee problem not a long term issue but deemed serious enough to see him sit out this weekend’s clash.
The big Sharks prop has been outstanding this season, with his defensive contact a highlight during the teams’ seven-game winning run.
Not noted for his try-scoring ability Prior has also managed to cross the stripe twice in 2016 in what were his first two tries in Sharks colours since joining the club in 2014.
After missing the Sea Eagles game Prior is expected to be fit and available for the Sharks next assignment which will be in round 13 against the Bulldogs on Monday, June 7.
The Sharks have a bye in round 12.
The Sharks team to play the Sea Eagles will be announced later today, with coach Shane Flanagan needing to find a replacement for Prior in his 17-man squad.
