After a second consecutive loss last weekend the NYC Sharks will be determined to halt the slide on Saturday afternoon when they host the Manly Sea Eagles.

Losing to the bottom-placed Manly side two weeks ago, in a match deferred from round three, the Sharks were again below their best in going down to the Newcastle Knights, with Coach John Morris looking for a turnaround in the form of his team this weekend.

The Sharks were slow out of the blocks in Newcastle, going behind by 16-0 at the half time break, and while they battled back to trail by just six early in the second period, the young Cronulla side had left themselves too much work to do as the Knights regained control and ran away with the result.

The loss saw the Sharks drop back to seventh on what is a tightly bunched competition table, making a win this weekend imperative should they hope to keep pace with the leading teams.

In naming his team Morris has resisted the urge to make wholesale changes, with the inclusion of Tony Matautia in the Sharks starting side the only alteration to the team which went down to the Knights.

The Sharks v Manly match in the Holden Cup is scheduled to kick-off at 5.15pm, with gates to Southern Cross Group Stadium to open at 5.00pm.
