Henson Park is the place to be for Sharks fans not making the trip north to Newcastle this weekend with a tantalising match-up in the Intrust Super Premiership scheduled for 3.00pm on Saturday.

Currently in second place, The Newtown Jets, the Sharks partner club in the ISP, tackle the first-placed Mounties in a clash set to provide an early indication of the relative strengths and weaknesses of two of the competition’s heavyweights.

While David Fifita will be missing from the Jets line-up after he received a call up into the Sharks NRL squad, the Newtown side are still able to field a formidable 17 man tram, with nine Cronulla-contracted players set to turn out on the day.

The form of Fa’amanu Brown will be of considerable interest after the Sharks utility turned in a man of the match performance playing for Samoa against Tonga last weekend, with Jets coach Greg Matterson looking for something similar come Saturday afternoon.

In addition to Brown, Jordan Drew (NSW Residents) and Junior Roqica (Fiji) turned out for their respective teams during the rep round, with the pair hoping to bring their solid form back to the Jets for the crucial clash with Mounties this weekend.

A win for the Jets would consolidate their position towards the top of the ISP table, however with a number of teams bunched together a loss could conceivably see four teams go past them.

Below Newtown Jets media have provided all the details for the game and related activities on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 3.00pm, with entry for Sharks members free.
