Sharks front rower Andrew Fifita spoke with the media yesterday as he and the side amped up their preparations ahead of the trip to Brookvale on Monday.

Putting in a huge effort in the Sharks Round 2 win over the Dragons, Fifita said he's both hopeful and confident of turning in a similar display against the Sea Eagles this week.

"Against the Dragons we all knuckled-down on our own roles, and just concentrated on the good things that we did, and it worked out for us," Fifita said.

"I think there's a really big challenge for (Manly), but we have to take it to them, we're coming into their fortress. It's going to be a really hard game for us."

Fifita also gave an appraisal on the form of young-gun Valentine Holmes, the recent showings of Ben Barba, and his own hopes and goals for the 2016 season.
