Not seen inside the first 40 minutes as Jack Bird went about filling '1' jersey for Coach Flanagan, Ben Barba was injected into the Sharks trial match with the Tigers in the second half, impressing in what was a solid showing from the nippy back.

Slotting into the fullback role as Bird was shifted to centre, Barba showed signs of great promise at the back - injecting life into the Sharks attack, while proving more than capable when called into action in defence, also.

In a second period where the Tigers enjoyed the bulk of possesion, Barba said he and the side did their all to counter the wave of momentum the hosts mustered at the change of ends.

"It would have been good to have got some ball in that second half," Barba laughed.

"I guess when we had the ball, we didn't hold it, and allowed them back in the football game.

"There were a few nice touches there, and as I said it would have been nice to have some more ball there, but that's football."

Hear how Barba rated his own performance, and also that of the team's, with his interview now playing on Sharks TV.
