Sharks Coach Shane Flanagan spoke with Sharks TV on Friday afternoon, in giving his assessment of the side's Nines campaign and previewing Sunday's trial match with Manly.

With the hit out against the Sea Eagles sure to be a good test for the side's new recruits, Flanagan said he's eager to see what new halves James Maloney and Chad Townsend have in store at the weekend.

"I'm really looking forward to that, they've trained really well together. They complement each other really well," Flanagan said.

"Jimmy's a real good support player. He's fast, he's got a really good kicking game. I'm really looking forward to see him working with Chad."

The Coach also spoke of Jack Bird's move to fullback, and the role that Valentine Holmes will play in 2016.
