Sharks Development Manager Vinh Tran spoke with Sharks TV on Tuesday, as the Club's Harold Matts and SG Ball squads went about fine tuning their preparations ahead of their respective matches with the Knights.

Having played pre-Christmas matches against the Rabbitohs, the squads will head to Dora Creek to take on the Knights, in what promises to be another tough assessment for the young Sharks.

"It was a massive year last year, so the standards have definitely been set high," Tran said.

"Overall the squads are shaping up, (the Souths trials) were a really solid hit out ... it was a good indication of what we need to work on, and how we're travelling."

"(The Knights trial) is a big day of footy, all our Junior Rep players and our Development players will get a chance for a hit-out."
