The Cronulla Sharks Mermaids had plenty to cheer about in 2015, and while the NRL squad will be hoping to go a few steps further on the field, so too will the Cheerleaders off it.

The Sharks are seeking the next crop of talent ahead of the 2016 season, with auditions for the 2016 Mermaids squad to be held on Monday, December 7.

Hopeful applicants will perform in front of a cast of judges, with the successful squad to be selected on criteria of dance ability, physical fitness, personality, appearance and poise.

As well as performing front and centre prior to the Sharks home games, there are a number of benefits of becoming a Mermaid for 2016 - not least, being a part of the number one cheerleading squad in Australia, with uniforms and apparel provided, and earning exposure through media events and community promotions!
