"As cool as a cucumber".

Fox Sports' Andrew Voss summed it up perfectly, as Valentine Holmes slotted an all-important field goal to earn his side the two points against the Raiders in Round 19.

While Holmes put the finishing touches on the sides' win, the moments of magic from the young gun were not limitted solely to the extra time play.

On what was an important venture to the nation's capital in the context of the Sharks season, Holmes opened the Cronulla account with a try on his familiar right flank.

And despite the flurry of controversy to end the match, the 19-year-old showed composure well beyond his years to kick his side 1-point clear, in doing so for the second time inside the competition's first 19 rounds.

But was it the best effort in Sharks colours this season? Have your say in our poll below!

Re-live Valentine Holmes' efforts, with highlights of the afternoon now replaying on Sharks TV.
