Under the current finals system, no side to finish the regular season outside of the top four has gone on to lift the premiers trophy come the first Sunday in October - but Michael Ennis says that's no reason to write off the Sharks' season, just yet.

Finishing the season in sixth after the Round 26 loss to the Sea Eagles, the Sharks have booked themselves a finals showing with the defending premiers, the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

While some may say the loss to Manly cost the side a shot at finals glory, Ennis - in calling upon the thoughts of ex-team mate and current Bulldogs skipper James Graham - put forward an interesting argument about why the Sharks are primed for a run at the NRL title.
