The NYC Sharks will host the Melbourne Storm in a standalone Holden Cup fixture at Remondis Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Having played well in patches against the Cowboys last Saturday, the Sharks side will be hopeful of reversing their recent fortunes when the Storm come rolling into town.
Under 20s Coach James Shepherd said he was impressed with his side’s efforts against the competition heavy weights last week, and despite the Round 22 loss, remains confident of a strong showing on Saturday.
“The boys competed well for large parts of the Cowboys game, and we’re hoping to build on that again on Saturday,” Shepherd said.
“We hung in well, and I thought we gave them a bit of trouble. There were definitely some positives to come out of the 80 minutes.
“They (Melbourne) got us down there in Round 3 but I think we’ve come a long way since then and we’re looking forward to getting one back.”
In a show of support for former Cronulla junior Kurt Drysdale, the 20s’ jersey will feature a “Unite For Kurt” tribute message emblazoned across the back of the playing strip.
In team news, Joshua Addo-Carr and Curtis Scott form the centre pairing following Keenan Yorston fracturing his ankle last week.
