After plenty of positive feedback following the last edition of the clinics at the June/July school holidays, the programs will again run over the school holiday period in September, with children encouraged to get involved in a bit of fun and footy over the break.

SUPER JAWS | 9am-12pm Thursday & Friday, September 24/25 , Captain Cook Drive Fields (De La Salle)

Aimed at 9 to 12 year olds, the Super Jaws program will again be run by former NRL player and current Elite Development Coach John Morris, with a focus on technical and tactical skills of the game.

With an added emphasis on educating the young players of advanced skills, Morris said that the clinic reflects the growing trends as witnessed across mod-league competitions.

“We wanted to provide a clinic that had a lot more coaching content for those kids who really want to learn more about Rugby League and advance their skills,” he said.

“They’re actually technical drills where the kids will definitely be learning the fundamental skills of Rugby League, and they can then apply that to matches. Hopefully that will fast-track their development.”

JUNIOR JAWS |9am-12pm Tuesday, September 22, Captain Cook Drive Fields (De La Salle)

The Junior Jaws clinic will be open to those aged 4 to 10, and will again focus on the fundamentals of the sport of Rugby League in a manner that will encourage young players to get involved in the fun of the game.

As well as a morning filled with footy and fun, the juniors will receive a Junior Jaws t-shirt, as well as being provided fresh fruit and water courtesy of Apollo and Solo.

MINI MERMAIDS | 9am, Tuesday, September 22,  (Summer Time Bar, Sharkies Leagues Club)

Those aged 3 to 6 will be treated to 90 minutes of dance, including games and a short routine followed by a signing and photo session with the Mermaids.

The girls in the 7 to 14 group will enjoy a two-hour dance clinic with members of the Mermaids crew, as well as a 30-minute ‘Backyard League’ session with the Sharks’ NRL Development team

Each Mini Mermaid will receive a t-shirt, pom poms and a mermaid’s poster for participating in the dance clinic.
