It’s that time of the year again Sharks fans! Our Oporto Mermaids need your support to help them claim top honours in this year’s, Big League ‘Cheerleader of the Year’ competition.
After 21 Rounds of the NRL this season, Big League has narrowed the field down to eight cheerleaders and Mermaids Christine and Courtney are both in with a huge shot of taking out the title.
The girls told sharks.com.au that they were overwhelmed with their nominations, and hope that Sharks fans can get behind their cause to see them crowned the season's best cheerleader.
"I love being a Mermaid. It does combine two of my passions, in sport and dancing," Courtney said.
"It's a very good hobby and a job to have. We have a very family-based community with our Mermaids."
"They (the fans) make our job really easy. It would mean a lot to us both if the Sharks fans could back us like they do the team. We really appreciate their support," Christine said.
