It may have taken longer than some would have hoped, however today Paul Gallen put pen to paper on a new one year playing contract and a three-year ambassadorial role with the Sharks starting next season.

Gallen will now play out his NRL career as a one club player at the Sharks in 2016 and when those playing days come to end he is set to continue his affiliation in working to drive the image and brand of the club into the future.

Understandably, Sharks Group CEO Lyall Gorman was thrilled to have secured Gallen's services for another season.

"Obvioulsy a great day for our club, an exciting day to announce the one-year extension of Paul's contract," Gorman said.

Gorman went on to explain details of the Gallen's contract, before handing the stage over to the Sharks skipper who answered a range of questions put to him by the media in attendance.

"I started my career here, I wanted to finish it here," Gallen said.

Sharks TV was on hand to record the joint press conference from earlier today.

See what Gallen and Gorman had to say, now playing on Sharks TV.
