The Newtown Jets have fallen into a precarious position on the NSW Cup table, making their match against the Wyong Roos on Sunday critical to their finals prospects.
A loss to Mounties in a match which saw them trail 30-4 only to storm back into contention before going down 30-24, has left the Jets in hanging onto eighth but in desperate need of a win to remain in the finals race.
Their opponents this weekend in the Roos are firmly entrenched in the top eight with 26 competition points which sees them currently placed in fourth position, meaning playing them at home will present a considerable challenge for the Newtown side.
Again the Sharks will supply a number of players to the Jets side, with xx Cronulla-contracted players in the 17-man Jets squad.
The match between the Jets and Roos is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick-off at Morrie Breen Oval in Wyong on Sunday.
