After their third and final bye for the 2015 VB NSW Cup season the Newtown Jets are back on deck on Saturday when the host the Canterbury Bulldogs in a round 18 match at Henson Park.
The Jets returned to the winner’s circle with a 28-20 win over Manly before their enforced week off with the bye and will look to continue their forward progress when they take on the Bulldogs.
The two teams both currently sit on 20 competition points, with the Bulldogs one place ahead of the Jets on for-and-against, making for a game which has definite finals implications.
The Jets once again will field a team with a large contingent of Sharks contracted players, with Nathan Gardner in particular in strong form of late and set to play an important role for the Newtown team in Saturday’s game.
The two teams have met once already in 2015, with the Bulldogs recording a narrow 26-24 win.
The Newtown v Bulldogs match is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick-off on Saturday at Henson Park and with the Sharks playing on Sunday, encourage as many Cronulla fans as possible to get out to the game this weekend.
